Evergreen Families,
After consulting with the National Weather Service regarding conditions around school dismissal time today, it appears we will have a slight break in the weather between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. In light of the current conditions, we encourage you to pick up your child(ren) from school when it is convenient for you; if not, students will be dismissed at the regular time this afternoon.
Due to inclement weather and predicted unsafe travel conditions forecasted for tomorrow, Friday, January 12, 2024, all buildings in the Evergreen School District will be closed (including all meetings, activities, athletics, and practices), and students will participate in remote learning.
On Friday, January 12, 2024, we will have a remote learning day (all students will learn from home remotely) in lieu of a make-up day at the end of the year.
* Based on winter weather warnings, we will move forward based on the possibility/prediction of power outages and/or loss of the internet. Therefore, students will NOT be taking home district-owned devices.
*If there is power and internet services, teachers will reach out to students the morning of a school building closure via email, Google Classroom, and/or other platforms. If you do not have access to the internet and/or a device at home, please make sure your child's teacher is aware of this as soon as possible.
*Students with a device and internet access should log in to their Google Classroom by 8:30 a.m.
*Students will attend virtual classes, and teachers will provide online office hours for students.
*Students without a device and internet access will complete other work assigned by the teacher.
*Teachers will mark student attendance based on attendance in online class or, if necessary, student work completed.
We work very hard to avoid school building closures, as it is very difficult on students, families, and staff. Please know that the safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. Please contact your school's office if you have any questions, and thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Stay warm and safe!
Best regards,
Laurie
